Precision Eye Exams in Southern California
At Optom-Eyes Vision Care, we believe that regular eye exams are essential for maintaining optimal vision and overall eye health. Our comprehensive eye exams assess your visual acuity and detect any potential issues early, ensuring your eyes remain healthy and your vision stays clear.

Why Regular Eye Exams Are Important
Regular eye exams play a crucial role in preventing and managing eye conditions and diseases. Even if you think your vision is fine, many eye problems can develop without noticeable symptoms. Early detection through routine eye exams allows for timely treatment, which can prevent vision loss and other complications.

What to Expect During Your Eye Exam at Optom-Eyes Vision Care
During a comprehensive eye exam at Optom-Eyes Vision Care, our experienced optometrists will perform a series of tests to evaluate your vision and eye health. These tests may include:
Visual Acuity Test: Measures how clearly you see at various distances.
Refraction Assessment: Determine your exact prescription for eyeglasses or contact lenses.
Eye Movement Tests: Evaluate how well your eyes work together.Slit Lamp Examination: This allows the doctor to examine the structures at the front of your eye.
Retinal Exam: Check the back of your eye, including the retina, optic disc, and blood vessels.
Intraocular Pressure Measurement: Screens for glaucoma by measuring the pressure inside your eyes.
Since the risk of eye disease continues to increase as you age, everyone over the age of 60 should be examined annually.
If you are over 40, it’s a good idea to have your eyes examined every one to two years to check for common age-related eye problems such as presbyopia, cataracts, and macular degeneration. We use cutting-edge technology for the most accurate and efficient diagnosis possible.
Optomap Technology
At Optom-Eyes Vision Care we use Optomap Retinal Imaging, it uses low-power laser technology, so your eyecare professional can take a wide, instantly viewable, and detailed digital scan of your retina (the area responsible for processing images). All in real-time. And in no time. Without the use of pupil-dilating eye drops.
Optomap is very similar to sitting down in a type of photo booth and leaning forward to have your picture taken. Except in this instance, the picture being taken is a larger, wide-field image of the inside of your eyeball. Optomap takes around a minute.
Since retina scanning is so important in the early detection of cataracts, diabetic eye disease, glaucoma, age-related macular degeneration, and more.
Specialized Testing for Eye Conditions
In addition to routine tests, we may perform specialized testing if you are at risk for certain eye conditions or diseases. This may include:
Dilated Eye Exam: Provides a more detailed view of the retina and optic nerve.
Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT): Captures detailed images of the retina to detect conditions like macular degeneration and diabetic retinopathy.
Visual Field Test: Measures your peripheral vision to identify any blind spots, which can be an early sign of glaucoma.
