Dr. Mary D. Vivirito is an Imperial Valley native who is passionate about serving her community, in and out of the office! She graduated from UCLA in 2008 with a Bachelor’s degree in biology. At UCLA she was a recipient of the Ralph J. Bunche Alumni scholarship through which she participated in different community service projects during college. This experience instilled in her a desire to serve her community in health care.
She attended the New England College of Optometry, training at the Perkin’s School for the Blind, the VA Medical Center in Portland, OR, South Boston Community Health Center, Basconi Palmer Ete institute in Miami, FL and the University of Maryland Medical Center in Baltimore, MD. As a student she helped provide eye exams to those lacking access to health care through mission work in Belize. She graduated with her doctorate of optometry in 2014 as a member of Beta Sigma Kappa’s honor society.
She completed her residency in 2015 at Tibor Rubin VA Medical Center in Long Beach, CA specializing in Low Vision Rehabilitation and Primary Eye Care. During her residency, Dr. Vivirito was privileged to serve veterans with visual impairments and legal blindness. Serving veterans will always remain a close cause to her heart.
She is excited to be back in her community and be part of Optom-Eyes Vision Care Optometry team!
